Keeping our eyes on the cross.

Independent Catholic episcopal jurisdictions are many, each with a
presiding bishop. Some jurisdictions are structured geographically, and
others are formed around the spiritual relationship one has with one's bishop,
regardless of geographic location. Many of these jurisdictions are in
communion with one another, sharing ministries and worship. This
inter-communion allows a spiritual home for traveling Independent Catholics who
may wish to worship while away from home.
If your jurisdiction has news and you would like to have it added on this
site, with links to your own Church site, please let us know. We will be
happy to include it. Requests need to be made by the bishop of any given
jurisdiction.

Uganda priests form new church
2010-01-01 11:56 Kampala - ...
"...Uganda's vice president, Gilbert
Bukenya said authorities were
investigating the church, which he
called a sect.
"We want to know its roots. If we
discover that it is illegal we will ban
it," he said.
Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, the
Roman Catholic archbishop of Kampala,
called on the government not to allow
such renegade religious groups to
operate, saying they might cause
confusion among Ugandans.
"I call upon government to avoid
registering such new churches," he said.
"They can bring about religious
conflicts."

Shame, shame on these bishops who lie in such
ways!
In what
amounts to dishonest communication with the People of
God regarding the validity of sacraments in other
Catholic Churches not united with Rome, the bishop of
Rumbek,
Bishop Mazzolari
has misinformed his own people regarding Independent
Catholic Churches. Never would he or any other
bishop of the Roman Catholic Church berate any Anglican,
Lutheran or other mainline PROTESTANT Churches, but the
slander against Independent Catholic or Independent Old
Catholic Churches is common. How dare they!
Is it only time and money that give prestige and respect
to those Churches of the Reformation, while Catholic
Churches not in union with Rome are totally
disrespected, while maintaining valid sacraments and
priesthood?

African News Reported Sudanese
Prelate Warns Against False Church
It was reported by
Zenit.org that the bishop of Rumbek in Sudan urged
Roman Catholics to beware of being seduced by "a new
sect" which in fact is an Independent Catholic
Church.
He addressed
himself to Catholics AND Christians (?) saying:
"I am clearly and strongly alerting you, dear
Christians, that people who call themselves The
Reformed Catholic Church, in all truth, are no
longer acceptable members of the Catholic Church and
you should not follow them."
His explanation, if
that is what he called it, was that this Church was
trying to influence the lives of Christians in the
region and "lead you away from the truth and the
true faith." He went on to say that those in
this Church no longer obey the pope or adhere to
clerical celibacy, ignore the ten commandments, copy
the rites of the RC Church like perfect "copy cats"
and "theirs is a false religion", and are
false teachers who confuse people.
Talk about confusing
people!!! What gives? For the story go
